Halfway Reflection

1) Tenaciousness is a competency. What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?
Organization is key for this course. On the first week of school, I put all of the assignment’s instructions and due dates into a Google Doc so that I would always know what to do and when to do it. If you are not organized, you may miss assignments or be confused about due dates. Canvas calendars and to-do lists can only be your friends for so long. Sometimes they do not show assignments, and that is when the trust is broken. To keep up with the course requirements, you definitely need to have, or develop, great time management skills. It is important that you are thinking about this course many times throughout the week. You cannot complete the course activities the day before the due date because many times there are interviews involved. You need to get information from REAL PEOPLE to succeed with your business idea, whether you want to pursue it after this course or not.  It is so easy to let coursework slip away from you, especially when you see that peer reviews are only worth one point. Don’t worry about the grade! It is more important to grow as a student and an entrepreneur than it is to get an A. Also, never skip the peer reviews. You’re only putting your peers behind by not giving them the feedback that they need to excel in this course! Stay organized, watch the lectures and put time into the class and you will see the benefits.

2) Tenaciousness is also about attitude. Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this?

There have been a few weeks where I felt like “giving up” mainly due to the stress that I had outside of the course. My biggest personal issue with my attention to the course occurs because my schedule doesn’t allow me to go to the live lectures. I have to find time to watch the lectures outside of the allotted class time and that is sometimes a struggle for me. College life is so busy and sometimes it can be hard to hold a grip on all of the tasks that you have been given. As stated previously, time management is key in this course. If you make a schedule of when you will be working on your courses each week, college life is so much easier. I got through the difficult weeks by improving my time management. Even if I don’t get around to watching the lectures until Thursday night, I am still working all week on the assignments given, especially if interviews are involved. I feel like I have developed a tenacious attitude through the past few months because of my new found love for learning about entrepreneurship. Although I am using my business idea in the course to learn aspects of the entrepreneurial process, I hope to be able to apply what I’ve learned to my own real business one day. I am very determined in the sense that I strive to actually learn how to be a great business woman and I think it really helps me navigate the course easier.

3) Three tips. What are three tips you would offer next semester's student about (1) fostering the skills that support tenacity and (2) developing the 'tenacious mindset' ?

1. Never be discouraged by reviews in the course. Your classmates are here to help you and only want the best for the future of your assignments and business ideas.
2. Prepare for things to come up. This goes with staying organized and having good time management. There will always be things that come up unexpectedly and with no plan, you won’t prosper.
3. Don’t procrastinate. Although it’s very easy to procrastinate in college, I would recommend getting rid of that habit now! Saving everything until the last minute does not only bring you stress, but the possibility to not get everything done. Many parts of this class can’t be held off, such as lectures and interviews, so say goodbye to procrastination!

Reading Reflection, No. 1

I chose to read Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson.
1) You read about an entrepreneur:
  • What surprised you the most?
    • The way that Steve Jobs' success came about surprised me. I have never really learned a lot about Steve Jobs before, even though there were many opportunities in my past where I should have. I have always heard that he came about in a strange way. The only fun fact that I knew about Steve Jobs was that he started his ideas and company in his garage. I was very surprised to find out that Steve Jobs did not become a billionaire from Apple alone. Jobs made most of his money from his investments in Pixar. Jobs had purchased 80% of the company for $5 million and with that investment.  Jobs became a millionaire, basically overnight, as Pixar reached a worth of about $50 million. I was initially very interested in and surprised by this because I knew Steve Jobs primarily from Apple, and knowing that he was so successful even before Apple really changed my mindset on him.
  • What about the entrepreneur did you most admire?
    • I mainly admire Steve Job’s drive and passion. Jobs was depicted as a little boy who knew that he was destined to be something great. From a young age, Jobs had the drive to change the world. Honestly, because of the companies that he was a part of and his positions within them, I would say he helped change the world, or at least how we live in it. Despite all of his setbacks, Jobs persevered and fought for his ideas and his company. Even with all of the failures that he encountered, he found success, and I admire that.
  • What about the entrepreneur did you least admire?
    • I don’t particularly admire any part of Job’s personality. From all of what I have read, I don’t enjoy hearing that he treated the people around him poorly. There were multiple times where Jobs disagreed with the people around him, and it not only caused problems, but changed a few paths along his way. Jobs can be described as irritable and I do not think that it was beneficial for anyone working with him. Although Jobs would justify his actions with the fact that he is persistent, it is not a good character trait to have in this case.
  • Did the entrepreneur encounter adversity and failure? If so, what did they do about it?
    • Steve Jobs encountered a lot of failure throughout his journey as an entrepreneur. One of the most notable adversities in Job’s career was him being fired from Apple in 1985. He was fired because of his attitude, which went along with him being a hard-headed man. The man who used to be the co-founder of Apple was then a man at the lowest point in his career. Jobs was later hired back by Apple and he saved the company from going under in respects to their money. Jobs continued innovating throughout his life and did not let these setbacks change his goals. They may have been bumps in the road along his entrepreneurial journey, but he definitely kept going and only tried to better his inventions and ideas. He took his failures and used them as power to persevere.
2) What competencies did you notice that the entrepreneur exhibited?
  • Job’s greatest competency was his ability to create and perfect. He had a mindset that brought out-of-the-box concepts into the real world and are now used frequently. He saw so many opportunities throughout his life and I think that his main skill was being able to make them reality. He would not let his ideas just be ideas, just as he would not let his products be imperfect. He put so much time and effort into making his products perfect and his eyes, and it shows how true his passion to create greatness really was.
3) Identify at least one part of the reading that was confusing to you.
  • I was confused by the fact that Steve Jobs was not the best student in school. This confuses me because he is so intelligent that I would assume he would be the best student at his school. The only explanation for this in my mind was that he was so smart that he knew he would one day be great even without being a super studious school student.
4) If you were able to ask two questions to the entrepreneur, what would you ask? Why?
  • Why did you initially not agree with the idea of third party apps?
    • I would ask this because I find it very interesting that Jobs was amazing at identifying opportunities but couldn’t quite identify this one. Apple makes so much money through apps and without them, I can’t even picture the iPhone. Without third party apps, there would just be a clock, calculator, calendar and a few others. That seems crazy to me that he did not see all of the opportunity with third parties!
  • If you could change any part of your entrepreneurial career, what would it be?
    • I would ask this because it would ultimately tell me if Jobs has any regrets. Although he was so successful, people always have regret. I would love to know if he thought that his career could have been better without one specific event or aspect.
5) For fun: what do you think the entrepreneur's opinion was of hard work? Do you share that opinion?
  • I think Job’s opinion of hard work was perseverance. I think that hard work was what he was banking on to create his empire. If he had workers within his company that were not putting in hard work, he wouldn’t keep them. He also realized that without hard work and dedication to the company, it will never prosper. I think his dedication, and overall perseverance, led him to run a successful ship. I think that perseverance is a key aspect in hard work, but I do not think it is everything. People can keep trying and trying to succeed, but that does not solidify that they are putting in the work. If each attempt is not well worked for, it is obvious that although the person is continuously trying something, they are not working hard.

Figuring Out Buyer Behavior, No. 1

Choosing a segment:

The segment that I chose to look at were students who bike around campus. There are many different groups of bikers that I could have chosen, but I wanted to see if I would get different answers than I usually get if I just stuck to students who bike next to the cars across campus.

Interviews:
I chose to interview one freshman who lives in a dorm and bikes to class and back to his dorm a few times each day. My second interviewee was a sophomore who lives off campus, but not very far off campus, and bikes to campus daily. My third interviewee was a sophomore who lives a 10 minute bike from campus. He bikes to class three times a week and occasionally goes to the library on campus.

Information search:
When the interviewees realized there was an initial need to increase their safety, they saw it necessary to add accessories to their bikes for drivers to see them easier, rather than adding accessories to themselves to increase their awareness. This makes sense because the responsibility of the safety of the bikers cannot only be put on the bikers themselves. When searching online for ways to better their safety, the interviewees said that they look for specific products that are known to increase their safety. These products include knee pads, elbow pads, helmets, light accessories and much more. The freshman that I interviewed added that he received a protective helmet this past Christmas from his parents because they were concerned about his safety while biking around campus.

What I learned:
After taking a closer look at this segment and interviewing these three potential customers, I learned that these bikers are still very concerned with their safety while on their bikes. This matches with the unmet need that I have been discussing in my previous posts of increased safety for bikers. My interviewees proved to me that not everyone sees the biker’s awareness as the main issue. They showed me that it may be better to look at the car driver’s side of things and help them become more aware, rather than fixing a problem with bikers that may or may not be existent. The bikers are still very concerned with their safety, but with their concerns, they would like me to think about the drivers around them more in depth. I think that when I was deciding on what opportunity I would analyze for this class and I was reading statistics on how many biking accidents there are each year, I just assumed that I should try to focus on the bikers’ awareness rather than anyone else in the situation. Although sometimes they are, many times biking accidents are not caused by the biker in the situation. It is very important to still look at the same unmet need of the bikers’ safety, but it is also imperative to analyze each individual in these situations. I am taking into account that this segment focuses on bikers around and on the University of Florida’s campus. I think it is important to acknowledge that there are many unaware drivers and bikers on campus, and there are many times that I have seen interactions between bikers and cars on campus that could have resulted in life changes for either party.

Conclusion:
Although all three interviewees were interested in my business idea, they truly showed me that there is also a worry of the car drivers' awareness when ensuring the safety of bikers. By choosing this segment, I got great information on how students who use their bikes to get around campus specifically feel regarding their safety. There are many things that I need to think about while continuing to pursue this business idea.

Idea Napkin, No. 1

1) My name is Carlie Darragh and I am currently an exploratory major with interests in many different categories. I will most likely be declaring my major as either Family, Youth and Community Sciences or Business Administration. I have a passion for photography and started a business for it in 2018. I would say it is one of my talents because many people say that I have an eye for photography and a gift to create. I had 45+ photoshoots last year, which makes me feel a sense of pride because all of those people get to keep physical memories that will last them a lifetime. I focus on photographing families, babies, high school seniors, college graduates and various events, but I one day hope that I can become a wedding photographer. If I were starting the business that I have chosen for this class, I think it would be fairly successful. There are many aspects of the business that I still need to figure out and fix, but the majority of the key details seem to work together and shoot towards a successful business. My life would definitely change if I created this business because I would focus more on the product rather than my photography goals. I would be advocating for transportation safety rather than creating memories for families and such.

2) I am offering customers a pair of headphones that play music, but also detect motion when around them. These will mostly be useful to bikers who bike alongside cars. I think that there is definitely an unmet need with all of the people who get hurt due to the lack of awareness of their surroundings. Many bikers listen to music during their bike rides, whether it’s coming from a speaker in their backpack or any other device, so these headphones could combine the music and alertness in one. The headphones would have two settings for the bikers. One setting will turn off all music being played and leave the biker to silence, and the other setting will play a beeping noise, but not too shocking, to where the biker will know that they are being alerted. Also, when the headphones have low power or the volumed is turned down, the alert will still play in the biker’s ear. This product is a key feature to the safety of future cyclists.

3) I will be offering this product to many different people, as there are definitely extra uses of the headphones that I am not focusing on. Although this is the case, I will mainly focus my time to customers who are frequent bikers. These customers will mainly be between the age of 18 and 60. People bike prior to the age of 18 and after the age of 60, but I would definitely focus my attention on this range of people as I think I would be able to both sell and help more in this range. For people under 18, I would most likely think about later releases a children’s version maybe built into a helmet, but I do not want to focus on giving children any distractions while biking at young ages. The customers I will focus on will be ones who see biking as a form of transportation, rather than for fun. This will ensure that the customers will be using the headphones enough for them to want to purchase. The customers I will focus on will be both male and female.

4) Customers will purchase my product because they are concerned for their safety while they cycle next to cars. Many customers fear for their safety while on large roads biking, but many just put a helmet on and hope for the best. Since there is no current product like this, the customers will see these and realize the need for them in their collection. I understand that many do not want to spend extra money on items they may already have, as in headphones, but once the customers see my product, they will see the obvious need of the headphones and a chance to increase their safety in situations that they are already placing themselves in.

5) According to what I have seen, there is a not a product like this currently on the market. There are plenty of people that listen to music through various devices while biking, but there is no item that alerts them of motion. The only safety products on the market for bikers are helmets, knee pads, goggles and reflective lighting systems. There is no product that beeps when a car is coming, which might just be the product one needs to save their life.

I think that the elements of this idea fit well together. I am concerned about making connections in the market to really get this product out there. With AirPods being such a big thing right now, I am worried that no one will even think to purchase another pair of headphones. My product could have all of the same aspects as AirPods, but since they do not say Apple on them, they may not be purchased as much. I think that will be the most challenging part of creating and holding up my business. I am worried that, even with the help that I am seeking, I may not get the sales and opportunities that I am looking for. I have also realized, due to interviews, that many people would not want to spend the extra money that these headphones would cost. I do not know much about true costs, but because of the extra features of these headphones, I am assuming that they will cost more than the average pair.

Testing the Hypothesis, Pt. 2

Who? Out of the five interviewed subjects, three of them said that they would consider buying this product. The other two said that they would not be interested. One of the interviewees that said that he would not use the product pointed out the potential cost of the headphones. He said that he would not spend the money on a pair of headphones like these because he is able to be aware of his surroundings without spending a chunk of his money. He brought up a very good point because these headphones would not be the cheapest on the market due to their added abilities in comparison to regular headphones. The other interviewee that was not interested in purchasing the product brought up some similar points. She said that if she was that concerned about her safety and being distracted while riding a bike, she would just not listen to music at all. I asked follow up questions to her points and she agreed that it would probably get boring to not listen to music if you are going a far distance, but at least you would be much more aware of your surroundings. Although three of my interviewees said that they would consider buying the headphones, it was apparent that everyone had concerns about whether they really needed them or not. They were optimistic that they would work well, but were questioning if they were essential to the future of bike riding. These interviews really opened up my eyes to my true potential audience and the likelihood of their purchases.
What? I learned a lot as to the product and its limitations when conducting my new interviews. The interviewees all opened my eyes to the fact that the buyer would probably not use the product every day, unless biking is their means of transportation. It made me question the overall usefulness of the product. If a potential customer thinks that the product cannot be used frequently, they may be hesitant to purchase. One interviewee brought up a great point in regards to the prevention of accidents. The biker can be safe and aware of his or her surroundings, but if the driver of the cars next to the biker are not paying attention or are distracted, there is no pair of headphones that can fix that situation. If there is a driver of a car that is driving poorly, especially drunk driving, a pair of headphones that detect motion can not alone keep the biker from being saved from the situation.
Why? I think the needs of the insiders are different than those of the outsiders because they have different mindsets of what is needed to ensure safety. For example, parents of children that already do not listen to music while biking do not have the concern of distracting music, but instead they may be concerned about a protective helmet. There may be things that are more concerning than the music distractions to anyone outside of the boundary. There will always be people who will not need your invention, but in this case, I found a lot of bikers who might not necessarily need my invention.

Inside the boundary
Outside the boundary
Who is in:
  • Concerned parents of children bike riders
  • Bike riders who have caught themselves distracted by music
  • Bike riders who have gotten into an accident
  • Concerned bikers who see poor drivers on the roads
Who is not:
  • Parents of children bike riders who do not have safety concerns
  • Bike riders who do not listen to music while they ride
  • Bike riders who are aware of their surroundings no matter if they are listening to music or not
  • Bike riders who see the road as safe and do not see extra reason to pay for precautional items
What the need is:
  • A safety mechanism to prevent unsafe biking habits
  • A way to eliminate the distractions of typically listening to music while biking
What the need is not:
  • A means to throw all responsibility onto the biker in a collision accident
  • A way to get rid of all unsafe situations between bikers and cars
Why the need exists:
  • Possible prevention of collisions due to distracted or unaware bikers
  • Parents are concerned with the safety of their children while biking
  • Bikers can ride on the roads with safety as their first priority
Alternative explanations:
  • Concerned parents are more concerned about helmets, knee pads and evaluating the ability of the child to ride a bike in general
  • Drivers need to focus on driving better; bikers don’t need to focus on biking better

Testing the Hypothesis, Pt. 1

The safety of bikers on the sides of roads.

Opportunity: There is an opportunity to help bikers realize that there are cars coming, and overall impact the safety of the bikers.

- Who: Bikers and possible walkers/ people getting around without cars
- What: Many bikers are unsafe and unaware as they bike down the road
- Why: Many bikers do not think about their surroundings while they are just trying to get from point A to point B, and there are safety concerns

Hypothesis

- Testing the who: There are probably many people that could need this new invention that I am not thinking of in my analysis. I chose to mainly focus on bikers, but there is a definite need in other fields of transportation as well.
- Testing the what: Many bikers are aware, so it is important to include both aware and non-aware bikers in my analysis. I am sure there not everyone feels like this is a need, because not everyone listens to music while they bike, but many people could use this product.
- Testing the why: Many bikers need to do more to ensure their safety as they are moving around. Although it should be their first priority, it is often not.

Interviews

- The first interview that I conducted was with a 12 year old boy. He frequently rides his bike around his neighborhood. He said on average, he probably uses his bike 5 times a week. This person said that they wear headphones or listen to music while they bike. This person said that they would definitely use these headphones while they bike.
- The second interview that I conducted was with an adult over the age of 50. They said on average, they probably use their bike twice a week. This person said that they do not wear headphones or listen to music while they bike. This person said that they would consider using these headphones while they bike.
- The next interview that I conducted was with an adult over the age of 30. They said on average, they probably use their bike once every other week. This person said that they do not wear headphones or listen to music while they bike. This person said that they would consider using these headphones while they bike, although they do not frequently bike.
- The next interview that I conducted was with an adult over the age of 40. They said on average, they probably use their bike 3 times a week. This person said that they do not wear headphones or listen to music while they bike. This person said that they would consider using these headphones while they bike.
- The last interview that I conducted was with a 20 year old college student. They said that they never use a bike and haven't in years. They would not use the headphones because they do not bike. They also do not currently use headphones.

What do I know about the opportunity that I did not know before?
- I now know that not everyone who I previously thought would use this invention will. I know that there is still a need for this invention, but I may not be able to branch out as much as I thought. I was unaware of how many people leave their ears open while biking. This decreases the need of my invention, although the opportunity definitely still exists.

Solving the Problem

My selected opportunity is the need for bikers to know when cars are coming up behind them. There are many people who get hurt because they are unaware of their surroundings. Many bikers listen to music during their rides and there is no current invention that stops their music if it needs to be.

I would like to introduce a pair of headphones in which you can listen to music, but they will alert you when there is motion around. This will be most helpful to bikers who need to be aware of the cars that are coming toward them. There could be other uses of this product as well, but my main focus is to assist the bikers. The headphones would either turn off the music that is playing or make beeping sounds in the headphones to alert the person wearing them.

Identifying Opportunities in Economic & Regulatory Trends

Economic trends

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/28/business/coronavirus-financial-markets.html

Global Markets Are on Edge as Coronavirus Spreads ; The New York Times

As the illness spreads, many countries are not receiving imports from China, and there is an opportunity for other countries to largely contribute to the constant imported and exported products among societies. This opportunity mainly exists because so many countries are struggling with not receiving their usual items from China. As this could hurt many country’s economies, it is important to suggest an opportunity for countries other than China to step in and take over parts of their responsibilities as a nation.

The potential customers for this opportunity include the countries who rely on China for their imports. I know the United States is one of these countries and if the importing systems will be halted for long periods of time, the country would be more likely to buy these products or goods from other countries that have the same capabilities as China. China is one of the largest mass producers for millions of goods and many parts of the import economies are having issues during this time. I am sure that many products that come from China can be mass produced elsewhere and it may be the time to shine for other countries.

The opportunity is difficult to exploit due to the fact that these items are already being sold by other countries. The opportunity existed a while ago, and to take the buyers would be more difficult than it seems. However, in a time of crisis, it may be the only option.

I think I personally see this opportunity because I am always trying to find effective ways to solve problems. I have seen so many articles recently regarding the economic issues that other countries are having due to China’s disease outbreak. I have always recognized that many nations are dependent on China and what China produces. This made me realize that maybe this could be an opportunity for other countries to step in and possibly have economic advancements, although so many people see this scenario as a disadvantage.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/23/business/climate-change-central-banks.html

Climate Change Could Blow Up the Economy. Banks Aren’t Ready. ; The New York Times

With climate change being such a large problem in today’s society, it is no wonder that it is predicted to affect the economy. There are withering coral reefs, rising sea levels, devastating storms and now brush fires in Australia. Many of our efforts no longer mean anything due to the already devastating impacts that we have seen. The banks are worried that the warming of the earth could change the economy drastically.

With so many people worried about the effects of climate change, as they should be, there are many opportunities for businesses to get ideas to the public that stop climate change from occurring as fast as it is. Although it is impossible to backtrack, there are many ideas that could help decrease the intensity of climate change and the likelihood of it all happening so fast. Inventions that assist in lowering the rates of climate change could be brought up by anyone and change the economy drastically. The potential customers of these products would be companies, small and large, and individuals who are aware that they are not helping the climate change situation. Some companies could be shut down in order to prevent the intensity of climate change getting higher, and to avoid this, many would be interested in products or other ways to decrease their individual impacts on climate change.

This opportunity is slightly easy to exploit because many people are worried about the earth and will do anything to attempt to fix our current situation. There are statistics available that show the realness and intensity of climate change. There are many ways that it has already affected our earth and there is no disagreement that it will only get worse. So many are willing to change their ways to keep the earth alive, so the opportunity for new businesses is better than ever before.

I personally see the opportunity for these kinds of businesses because I am an avid follower of climate change issues. I am very aware of the future possibilities and would try to change them in any way that I could. Although I am writing this with the mindset of economic opportunities, it is definitely more important to look at climate change from an environmentalist standpoint. Even if you are not an environmentalist, the impacts that the earth could face is proven to be detrimental and everyone should fight to fix what we have done.

Regulatory trends

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/20/opinion/facial-recognition-ban-privacy.html

We’re Banning Facial Recognition. We’re Missing the Point ; The New York Times

There is an opportunity to expand on other technologies that are methods of identification. As so many areas are banning the use of facial recognition, there is an open field for ways to please these communities and promote a different invention. Many factors that go into banning these technologies include the safety of the people using these technologies, but there are still many people and companies using such assistance. Perhaps there is a market of people and companies looking for safer identification methods, and it just may be the perfect time to introduce one.

The potential customers for these new opportunities are large companies who already use such technologies or want to begin including them into their routines. Many large companies use methods such as fingerprinting or facial recognition to log employees into the system, but any of these companies who fear for safety issues may want to dive into a new technology that does this same thing.

This opportunity seems easy to exploit because of how many companies are taking a turn away from these facial recognition technologies. With so many companies wanting to find another way to identify people, they are open to new inventions and ideas. This makes it easier to create and get your ideas out to the world because of the vulnerability of the buyers and people looking for these new technologies.

I personally see this opportunity because I, too, think that facial recognition as a form of identity is unsafe. I have always been weirded out by scanners such as these that know all of your facial features. I would love to see some new technology that works just as good as facial recognition, but is not as creepy or unsafe. I personally do not like how much it knows and remembers one person’s features. For instance, many people tell me I look just like my sister and when I try to get into her phone using facial recognition, it denies me. Yes, this is beneficial for her privacy, but it makes me feel uncomfortable that it has scanned her face so in depth that it can tell when a few features are slightly off from her face to mine.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/31/health/vaping-flavors-disposable.html

Teens Find a Big Loophole in the New Flavored Vaping Ban ; The New York Times

With the Food and Drug Administration’s ban of most flavored e-cigarettes, they hope to prevent kids and teenagers from becoming addicted to these items. Little do they know, by only allowing menthol and tobacco flavors, kids and teens have resorted to other forms of nicotine. There are now Puff Bars, Stigs and multiple other disposable nicotine products that are allowed in the hands of these individuals. There are so many people buying these new devices and the addiction lives on, although Juuls, the beginning of the addictions, were banned.

An opportunity exists for devices that act as a placeholder for these nicotine devices, but do not have any nicotine in them. This opportunity exists because there are plenty of people who want to quit nicotine, but there are reasons keeping them addicted. There are possibilities of smaller-dose devices or devices that do not even have any nicotine in them. This would not be an end-all change, but it could definitely help the situation.

The potential customers of these products would be the thousands of people that are already buying these small nicotine devices. Many people have tried to stop using nicotine, but there are not that many teenage-friendly devices for that. Some do not understand that half of the time the users are truly addicted, and the other half they are just doing it to fit in or look cool. It would be beneficial for a product to be released that looks as though it is one of these nicotine devices, but it does not have the bad consequences along with it.

I personally see this opportunity because I am around a lot of people who could possibly use this new device. Many of my acquaintances were addicted to nicotine and had to slowly lower their use due to the age raise. Although I still know a few people in their 20’s using these devices, there are always people disobeying laws and many underage children and teens are still getting a hold on these devices. With the current nicotine addiction rate in the United States, I don’t see how a new product like this could harm the public, even if it is only selling in small quantities.

Final Reflection
